Need help streaming .flv through proxy server
on Feb 24, 2006 at 6:51:41 pm

I have a large client whose network is behind a firewall and proxy server. They are having trouble viewing our streaming .flv's. This is the actionscript code I am using, and the sys admin is getting intermittent working video. Any advice? Most of the server stuff is over my head.

var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();

var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc);

ns.onStatus = function(info) {
if(info.code == "NetStream.Buffer.Full") {
bufferClip._visible = false;
if(info.code == "NetStream.Buffer.Empty") {
bufferClip._visible = true;

againButton.onRelease = function() {;

pauseButton.onRelease = function() {

var videoInterval = setInterval(videoStatus,100);
var amountLoaded:Number;
var duration:Number;

ns["onMetaData"] = function(obj) {
duration = obj.duration;

function videoStatus() {
loader.scrub._x = ns.time / duration * 235;

var scrubInterval;

function scrubit() { * duration));

I don't have an answer for you, but am having the same problem with a client who is trying to deploy Flash and FLV's on a Citrix system. The lesson I've learned is to ask and test in the early stages of development! Looks like we are going to end up distributing CDs instead of using the network.
