Trying to refine cue points.
on Feb 5, 2006 at 12:36:14 am

Hello Again...

I have successfully embedded cue points into my FLV, and am using the ActionScript below to trigger animations in my main timeline. Everything works fine; however, if I scrub along the timeline, it messes up the order of the cue point animations.

Is there a way that I can set up cue points so that the end user can scrub along the timeline and still have the various cue point animations play at the correct cue points?

Thanks! :)

var myCueNextIndex:Number = 0;

var myCue:Array = new Array();
myCue.push(eventOne);
myCue.push(eventTwo);
myCue.push(eventThree);
myCue.push(eventFour);
myCue.push(eventFive);

// EVENT HANDLER: onCuePoint

ns.onCuePoint = function(eventObj:Object)
{
var myCueNext:MovieClip = myCue [ myCueNextIndex ];
myCueNext.play();

myCueNextIndex++;
}

I think your best bet for that would be to give your cuepoints names, and if you gave them the same name as the movie clip you want played at that cue point, the code would be rather easy and not need an array to hold the values. Name your cuePoints : "EventOne" "EventTwo" "EventThree" etc.

ns.onCuePoint = function(infoObject:Object) {
var myCueNext:MovieClip = infoObject.info.name;
myCueNext.play();
}
