Get Rid of Border?
on Jan 18, 2006 at 12:31:52 am

Hello,

I have a black border around my design in Flash and need to get rid of it. I would like all of my design to fit up to the edge of the browser window. I set my publish settings to 100% and "exact fit"...it stretches nice and is centered but I still have a damn border.

Please help!!!??!!

Thanks!

Jimmy

Can you show a webpage of that?

Maybe the border is not in flash?

Is the web page's background set to black? That's what it sounds like. Flash can make it fit the size of the browser, but it can't change the proportions of the flash document, so if the proportion of the SWF is not the same as the proportions of the useable part of the browser you will get a border on whatever 2 sides are not filled up with the SWF. The best way to avoid this is to have the backround of the HTML the same as the background of the SWF if possible.

Yeah, its the simplest way to hide the borders but if SWF movie has a different background colors????
Here is the solution:
add HTML code to your html page under /head command:
leftmargin="0" rightmargin="0" topmargin="0" bottommargin="0"

this code will delete all brders from your page...

Try it....! :)))))

i have been creating pages size 800x600. the background is black.

"The best way to avoid this is to have

how do i do this? should i change to another size? the one thing that i do not understand in designing for the web is how monitors sizes vary. i would like my website to be able to look the same in all browsers - to have no borders and to stretch and stay centered. is there a default size i should use. i dont understand the size of the playing field...fundamentals...i know...

sorry for all the questions. im new at this. havent yet put the page up either. coming soon!

please help!!!

1. Just find your HTML file which is responsible for displaying your SWF file.
2. Mouse click on right button to open popup menu
3. Choose program "notePad" to edit your HTML document
4. now you need to find this:

html
head
....
...
..
..some tags here....

/head

5. so, now you need to add some HTML code below "/head" line...
6. As far as I understand your BKGround is black, so add this tag now:
body bgcolor=#000000 bottommargin="0" leftmargin="0" rightmargin="0" topmargin="0"

As, a result all margins will desappear and your BKGround color will be BLACK.
