3D dice
on Dec 8, 2005 at 4:16:22 pm

Hi guys

I've built a 3D rolling dice game in Flash, but its a cheat. Basically, I had after effects produce an animation which i imported then had Flash swap in the last frame for a movieclip chosen at random from 1 to 6.

My problem is the file size from all those images and also you don't get to see the actual dice numbers roll into position. Does anyone here know how to use actionscript to create two 3D dice, which could have different faces. I've been asked to produce a set a word dice as well as number dice, and then have them roll to produce a random result?

I don't know of that in particular, but you may be able to use this class from macromedia to do it.

you should create six different aminations one
for each number on the dice and then play that
animation based on the random number generated.
