list of numbers - find the best one that fits
on Dec 7, 2005 at 7:51:05 pm

Okay- I'm going to try and explain this the best I can. I have traverse frames of 1220, 1245, 1270, 1295, 1320, 1345, 1370, 1395, 1420, 1445, 1475, 1500, 1525, 1550, etc - all the way to 1750 (25mm increments). To calculate the best traverseframe take the _root.palletlength+205+_root.runningclearance (this ex. palletlength equals 1225 and running clearance equals 100 so my actual traverseframe equals 1630); However, I don't have a traverseframe that equals 1630 so I want to pull from a list of available traverseframes and take the closest one. So I have a 1625 and a 1650 - I want action script or function or whatever it is I'm looking for to select 1625. I want to take the result of my palletlength+205+running clearance and look a list of traverse frames available and select the closest number. How do I do this?

Any help, greatly appreciated!
