Animated opens with their own music mixed with demo music

It's been awhile since I've put together a demo reel. What is the norm for handling animated opens with music/narration and using a general music track for the rest of the demo reel?

Timeline example of what I'm talking about;

animated open with its own music, then other video with demo music, then another open with its own music, then another sample of animation with demo music, etc etc.

Seems rather 'bumpy' to be going back and forth between open music and demo music. Opinions?

It depends on what the Reel is for. If it is for motion graphics or a cinematography reel then it typically will be a montage of clips. Typically you will have one song from beginning to end. If it is an editing reel then you can have an animated open with music. But once you show the editing just show a section of a video you did as is. Hope this helps?
