SHOWREEL: Interview Cinematography — Please Critique

I respond to lots of ads looking for camera ops to shoot interviews so I thought I'd make a showreel highlighting interview cinematography. Please, let me know your thoughts on the reel. It can always be better, right?

Hey Jonathan,

I like it, it's a good reel, however I would probably find an interesting way of adding the sound for some of the clips, maybe fading down the music and doing a quick montage with sound included somewhere in the middle. I just say this because sound is important when doing interviews and potential employers will probably want to hear your sound quality.

It's a difficult theme to make interesting because after all, it's just talking heads, but you've done well; though I would probably make it a tad shorter.

Love your graphics by the way and if you don't mind could you tell me what codec you used to upload?

Also would love a critique on my reel as well, I've posted and am a couple of postings above yours.

Cheers!

your shots are pretty decent.

only thing that bothered me was a lot of the angles were too wide for me. i was focused on the background more than the interview. Like the woman on the train, the piano woman, and the guy playing with the bongo on the floor in the background.

aside from that i really liked the canted angle shots. they brought those edge artists to life!

i'd give it overall a "B+" but go tighter on the framings.
