what should i put on my demo reel?

what should i put on my demo reel?

I want to make a demo reel,

i feel to show the full range of my skills i should shout some 'stock' scenes so i could color edit them properly

any ideas for 'stock' scenes

also what should be on a demo reel? length content etc??

What are you trying to sell yourself as??

Editor, GFX, Actor.

These influence the type of reel you make.

You might want to separate your reels, one for editor and one for dvd authoring as the skills are unique.

Editing reels are so varied. If you do lots of narrative stuff you might want to slow it down and allow breathing time as to allow the editing to come through. If you are doing more editorial/commercial gigs then speed it up, give it a solid backing track and show energy.
Generally people try to show as many money shots as possible (as in the shots that cost the most production/VFX etc wise).

The best advice I can come up with is to search for post houses in NY, LA and London and see what their editors reels are like.
