posting reel on web (1 & 1)

Hi there.

I am in the process of trying to upload my reel to my first website and I know very little about web design/encoding.

I signed up w/ 1&1 which I heard about from Creative Cow, however I haven't been able to upload my reel onto it.

I currently have it as a quicktime .mov file. Could someone give me a step-by-step process as how to get it on the site. Do I have to save it in the FTP? Again, I know very little about all this and greatly appreciate any help anyone can offer.

Thank you.

There are a few ways to get your QT file on the web.

Direct view in the web browser:
1. Upload to your FTP using a FTP client programm such as Filezilla or WebFTP from your ISP
2. the link of this is usually http://www.yoursite.com/yourFTPdirectory/yourReel.mov
3. Embed this into a html page. there is a very useful html generator for embeding media at this site:
http://cit.ucsf.edu/embedmedia/step1.php

Let users download your reel:
1. Follow steps 1-2 above
2. create a html page and post a link(
