I am engaged in a project that will eventually require HD (1920x1080) projection for the stage. Today I don't need to project it, I just need to edit / compile the content, which will be jpeg stills.
I would like to edit it against a music track and than output an SD work copy to see how it feels.
What is the cheapest software solution that would allow for the editing of such a project. Am not looking for special effects (possibly dissolves) but it is really super simple. Quality of the final product is the most important aspect.
Premiere and vegas are probably your cheap options. There may be something cheaper. Hell powerpoint may be something you want to look at - I'm not familiar with power point but I assume it will accept stills and can be sync'ed relatively simply to music. Otherwise you have to worry about getting it to tape which will rack up big bucks fast. Are they using a computer to project it?
