New ForbiddenSky Reel

Hey guys & gals...
finally got around to updating the reel on the site. This is a rough cut, still working on the editis and selections, but I figured I'd share before posting on the page. Feedback is welcome and appreciated. A work in progress at best. Thoughts?

Lots of good stuff in there. Man, you've flown around a great deal of elements! For me, I don't like reels that want to speed everything up and show only a portion...I'd rather see an animation play out a bit, pay off, then move on. And I don't want to see that animation again. In your reel you seem to revisit the same elements throughout. Once I've seen it, seeing it again is wasting my time.

But I like your work and have a pretty good idea what my logo might look like if I hired you to animate it.

Hey Rich,
Thanks for taking the time to review my reel.

I totally agree about seeing similar elements through out the reel. For right now some of them are just there for pacing. I've tried to weed out the clips from my previous reels which I was not too fond of, and as a result, I've had to place different segments from the same overall animation through out the reel. I'll work on replacing some of the edits and the weeks go buy, and new projects are completed.

As for the timing, I usually do a montage, to some upbeat music, fast pacing, I know some people don't like that, but some do. After the montage on a tape or dvd, I have a few samples of full spots to showcase the finished product, and also a composite breakdown layer by layer, to show the train of thought involved in the creation of a specific piece. I'll post up on here when I have that part down. Again thanks for your input I really appreciate it!

I like the work. Everything looks clean and the colors mesh well with each other. The fact that you're going for specifically broadcast graphics is good, it means you'll specialize and become great at what you do.

I can't comment on the audio as my QT7 is still not playing nice with my sound card.
