Frame Stutter Motion4

Greetings -

I am having a quality issue with a certain animation which you can see on youtube here:

As you can see, when the the camera starts to move and track along the dots as they appear, the dots have some kind of blurry stutter that is very difficult on the eyes.

The dots were created as objects inside Motion, so it can't be a conflict with an asset format. Is this a frame rate, motion blur issue? Is this just a limitation of Motion?

I thought it might have to do with the export settings, but when I play the animation back in the program it looks just as bad.

Any thoughts? Many thanks in advance :)

Looks almost like you have the field order reversed. Have you tried None as the field order?
Otherwise, perhaps it's related to the shutter angle on the motion blur?
Very odd - shouldn't look like that for sure.

Wouldn't the field order only apply to the export? Can you please elaborate and advise on how to switch to "none."

Also, I think I have motion blur turned off right now, but how does one change the shutter angle just in case?

Thanks for you quick reply.

Motion blur is enabled under the Render pop-up menu (in Motion 4) - or Option-M. The shutter angle can be adjusted by going to Edit > Project Properties, in the back tab.

Field order was already switched to "none." I tried manipulating the shutter angle, but that only seemed to make the problem worse.

Any other suggestions? Looking at some other threads about animations, there seems to be issues with lateral moves in graphics, but these were for AE projects.

I'm at a loss really...

Can I jack my frame rate up to 60? Might that help? I can't figure out how to change the frame rate in the motion project however, seems to be stuck at 29.97...

It's worth trying (each frame will be smaller moves). Also, upping the motion blur samples, will make it 'smoother.'

You can't change the frame rate in the project properties - once set, they're permanent. Select all, copy, create new project at proper frame rate, paste.
