Alternating text styles

Hello,

I am preparing some end credits for a series, I've done one episode but was hoping somebody maybe able to give me a few pointers on speeding up the process. I have the credits in a text document that I am copying and pasting, but none of the formatting comes across which is a pain as every other line is in bold. So:

Is there a way to copy/paste the text with the bold/nonbold info into motion?

I have been unable to highlight more than one section of text at a time (most text apps it's hold apple and highlight sections) is there a way of doing this on Motion?.

Finally, when you have some text highlighted is there a short cut to make the text bold (going to HUD and using the drop down menu is driving me mad

Thanks

If your text is in a Word document copy and past it into the TextEdit app that comes with your mac. Then highlight and copy the text and paste it into Motion. It will retain the different fonts and whether it is Bold or Regular. Plus it remembers the spacing cause by hitting the return key. I've found that this can save a lot of time.
Best of luck with your TV show.

That doesn't seem to work for me. Line spacing is retained but it's the bold/nonbold and font are not.

Are you using Motion 3 by chance?

Yes, I am indeed using Motion 3.

...The fact that you asked makes me worry that it's going to be a line by line job.

Unfortunately, if memory serves, retaining text formatting was introduced in Motion 4.

This being new to Motion 4 sounds right.
