stuttering fps issue
on May 26, 2010 at 8:46:21 am

Hi all

I have rendered out a sequence 300 frames long. from C4d (rendered at 30fps)

And have put it into a 25 fps motion document. now I have a bit of stuttering in the playback... in the document it shows the vid rate at 25 as it should be. but if I import the 300 frames into a fresh document ,25fps, it shows the vid rate at 29.97

Now this would cause stuttering, but how does the jpeg sequence know what frame rate it should be.. I thought I could put it into any fps it would just change the timing.. am I wrong....????

and how do I fix it...

Thanks

Lee

Select the image sequence in the Layers tab and press Shift-F to bring it up in the Media tab of the Project pane and the Media tab of the Inspector. This action selects the underlying media file. In the Media tab of the Inspector, you can change the frame rate.

By the way, if you are using C4D 11.5, you can export your 3D data directly to a Motion project:

Thanks Mark

The movie for the motion C4d exchange looks interesting..

I will be upgrading soon so looking forward to that.

I managed to get round the problem this morning by pre-saving QT files as reference movie files then importing them into motion..

Are you aware of any saved elements in image sequences that state the fps when rendered out?

Thanks

Lee
