Shout out to Mark Spencer for the quick video tutorial on adding reflections and shadows in Motion 4. Keep up the great work!
In Motion, when you have to add a light to the comp to make a shadow, you lose the ambient light for the entire comp. Is there a way around this? In other words, I have no lights on my comp, so adding the one light to create a shadow throws off the comp.
I've tried adding more lights to solve the problem, but naturally it lightens the shadow as well. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Add an additional light and make it an Ambient light and then lower its intensity. Or you could add another light and aim it at another part of the scene to balance it out. Hope this helps and best of luck.
Thanks, Stephen. I decided to scrap the lights and add my own 'shadow' shapes instead. It would be very time consuming to do this if I had multiple elements, but the video is simple in style, so it looks fine.
