Liquid pouring into create text

Probably out of the range of Motion's capabilities, but I'd like to create an effect where liquid pours and creates text, as if the text was a container and the liquid was filling it up. Just curious if this would be possible in Motion, and if not, where else I might want to investigate. Thanks!

Did you look a couple of threads down on how to create liquid?

Haha I did right after I posted, not sure how I missed it. It seems like if you were very precise with the edge collision you could do it, but I was more looking for a third party filter or something similar.

I wonder if the edge collision detection can be driven by the alpha of a text object? Even if it could be done, you'd need superb logical skills to stack the layers to prevent the counters from being filled.

Filling a text object is easy. Just shoot an aquarium and matte that into your letters. Creating text shapes (or any shapes) from a simulated liquid is an endless quest of even the best 3D artists.

Hi

i think you are looking for something more like this tutorial:

http://library.creativecow.net/articles/martin_chris/liquid_logo.php

it is possible to do in motion with some help from masks and emitters but to really get the effect
you need to do it in a 3D program like Cinema 4D
