importing paths slows preview down to a crawl

Hi, I've been using a script from motionsmarts.com to export illustrator paths as motion shapes. I have a few paths that have a lot of anchor points. When I try to review my animations, the playback is glacially slow (a few seconds per frame!). Simple question: is it not a good idea to work with complex shapes in Motion? Is the program simply not designed to deal with vector graphics with as many anchor points as a complex Illustrator drawing? thanks.

Not really a big workflow... I'd try it another way.

It's looking like some of these elements don't need to be paths . . I can import them as pdf's an uncheck "fix resolution" in the media tab of the inspector. Will update on this shortly ... Thanks again.
