Flowing Smoke Text

Hey there,

Just to preface my question, I'm fairly new to Motion and Motion Graphics in general, but have a good background in Editing.

I'm really interested in a Motion Tutorial on how to make flowing "smoke-like" text like I've seen in some recent movie opening sequences. Smoke flows on, turns into text then dissolves back to smoke and blows away.

I've seen a few links to older version After Effects tutorials, but following those and trying to translate to Motion has been fruitless for me.

Does anyone know of any Motion specific tutorials to do such an effect?

There is a really good tutorial on creating smoke in Adobe After effects.
This is worth while to check out, and it is fairly simple
try this link: http://library.creativecow.net/print.php?id=454

It works quite nicely!

Christopher,
Can you give us a link to one of those tutorials you want your text to look like? Also, take a look at this plug-in. It might be all you need to get the job done: http://idustrialrevolution.com/plugins/particlemetrix/
