resizing a 5K Photoshop file in Motion

I have a 36 layered psd graphic that is 5000 x 3000, and i'm trying to resize it in Motion so i can delete a few of the layers. I know i am being limited by my graphics card (and i don't have Photoshop, so Motion is my graphics program), but isn't there a way to import the file or project into say a 1250 x 750 project size so it would be more manageable?

thanks again!

Resize it in Photoshop first- that's the best way.

Doesn't really matter if you have Photoshop or not- you can resize Photoshop files in almost any graphics program, then bring into Motion. The OS X Preview application or GIMP come to mind:

That said, if you're doing motion graphics more than once a week you pretty much need to bite the bullet and get Photoshop.

First Post on the Forums!

I believe there is an option in the Motion preferences that allows you to choose Large images to be scaled to your project size upon import. Give that a try. This will also help out your processing speed.
