16:9 template

I'm using a template in motion and when I change the project to anamorphic in the project properties, some of the aspects of the project distort or don't fill the screen. How can I make the template 16:9 with no problems? Thanks in advance guys.

What template are you using? I just changed the "Sketch-Open.NTSC" template to 16x9 anamorphic and it did not stretch while maintaining it's proper aspect ratio.

Thanks for the response Stephen. i was using the paint template. It didn't change all the layers. just some of them.

I see what you mean. I'm not sure if there is an answer for that. Here is a quick fix for this problem:
-Edit
-Project Properties
-Change the Height to 405 (16x9 Anamorphic is really 720 x 405)

Everything fits like it should in motion and the project file will open up just fine in FCP, regardless if it is 720 by 480 or 720 by 480 anamorphic. Hope this helps.

I just tried your suggestion and it doesn't seem to fit inside of an anamorphic timeline correct. It leaves space on the outside edges.

Sorry, I just gave you the aspect ratio for 720 by 480, you must be working with 720 by 486:

720 x 486 = 720 x 410
720 x 480 = 720 x 405

Hope this helps.
