Finally, a break in the case, but still no clue. (Slow motion performance)

I'm on the latest everything, motion 3.0.2 etc.

Mac Pro Quad 3.0. x1900 Leopard 10.5.2. Aja Lhe (but problems persist when disabled, uninstalled) All updates.

Motion3 , which I already found painfully slow, has become nearly unusable lately. After much searching and debugging, I discovered that sometimes my CPU would hit 100% or more while motion was IDLE.

Through a painstaking process I finally tracked it down to the "Sequence Text" behavior.

New project-- I used DV res.

Create some text.
Drop a Text-Basic > Sequence Text from Left to right.
(Don't even play it.) Move your cursor over the affected text layer in the timeline. Doesn't even have to be over the behavior itself.

Open activity monitor and look at the CPU usage.

Mine said 45% (out of 400%) with just a few characters and that behavior.

Duplicate that layer. Mine jumped to 90%.

Duplicate both those layers. Mine jumped to 100%, and when I started clicking and sliding the playhead, I got that choppy, horrible Motion performance I'd been experiencing.

Anybody else confirm/deny? (With system configs, would be nice...)
