Using Motion for Live Sports Broadcast

I'm needing to produce on-air graphics for some sporting events that we are going to be doing live. The problem is that our crap titler died (yeah, I'm crying 'bout that) and we need to replace it. The boss wants to get a chyron, but I can't use any stuff that I've prebuilt if we go that horribly expensive way, and I'd rather use what I have and know -which is FCP, Motion, AE and I want to be on the Mac while working the games just in case I need to create something on the fly.

So, do any of you have suggestions on what I need to connect the Mac running AE, FCP and Motion to the controller board with an alpha channel in place so that our graphics won't suck?

Lot's of stuff you could in Quartz composer, also:

then you'd need a card for the keying- AJA and Blackmagic have as a built-in function. I know some folks who put these solutions together- drop me an email offline if you need help.

You may want to look at a Tricaster from NewTek. Kind of like a Video Toaster for live use. http://www.newtek.com/tricaster/
