I have a clients logo and made it in Photoshop CS. Ive got it at 300 dpi 72 dpi I placed it in a widescreen template in PS and when I get it into Motion it looks like dog squeeze on the edges. Whats the best remedy for this? thanks so much!!

I'm having the same trouble. Here's a look at mine:

This is at HD 720P project setting.

I'd try to apply the deinterlace or anti-aliasing filter.

Also resizing it outside of FCP to fit your frame in FCP will result in better quality.

Try about a .5 gaussan blur on your Route 66 sign.

Thanks for the tip. I actually had to add a 3 to 4 point G.Blur to it to get rid of the lines. It's unfortunate because it does soften it just a bit more than I'd like. As usual I'll just make a version that's only slightly bigger than my frame size. (The picture you're looking at is scaled down to 24% from it's actual size!)

Switching your Render Quality to Best from Normal will get rid of the aliased edges. This can be found under the "View" menu. Of course the render times go way up, but the tradeoff is that graphics are properly rendered. I was dealing with this all last week on logos. The reason it looks good in FCP is that FCP defaults to the Best rendering quality by default, you can check this in your sequence settings under 'Render Control' in FCP 6.
Hope that helps,
Santiago
