Monthy pyton intro. How to...?
on Jan 23, 2006 at 9:46:26 am

I'm making an intro to a school project and was thinking of making the intro look sort of like the monthy pyton intro.

If someone hasn't seen it.. It's basically lots of items jumping, beeing picked up by a crane, people jumping out of someones heads, etc. Just stills!

I allready have the images.. I only need to know how to key them..

Can I do this i motion? Or is this something for shake?

I don't know any one of the two programs but are learning, by doing...

If you have the images, you just need to make sure there's an alpha channel around them and then start compositing them.

I do this animation all the time for Good Eats and I use After Effects for the actual animation with Photoshop to cut out the images. When using Photoshop, I don't have to actually create an alpha channel, just leave a transparency around each object.

But you can do this in Motion as well.

the key to it is to use somewhat stilted keyframed movement, not overly smooth movement.
