I have a Premiere CC 2015 sequence featuring :
• a 1920 x 1080 Mpeg video track
• a stereo voice over audio track
• a native 5.1 audio track generated by the camcorder
• a main 5.1 audio track
when applied to this sequence the ‘Open in Audition ‘ command results in the following:
only the stereo track displays the ‘Track panner’ window which enable moving the sound balance between the speakers. In Premiere as well only the stereo sound track displays the Track panner in the Audio mixing window.
Is this normal?
Although I had check the ‘Send through dynamic link’ or the ‘Export DV preview video’ option, the video track in Audition is labelled ‘Offline’ and the ‘Video’ window is empty.
Did I missed something in the project settings?
Thank you for your assistance
CC can drop the ball on these edit shares. Try multiselecting all audio you want to mix down and use the dynamic link export if the edit in Audition feature does not work.
You could also make a sub project or sequence of just the audio tracks to move as needed for the mix. Have you tried the Premiere audio features for your mix? You may be able to make your changes right there.
If it is still a problem just manually place your tracks and watch where your file exports are sent. Keeping a hand written list of file names may help. As you may have trouble finding edit files and mixdowns.
Personal workflow patterns and those recommended by Adobe and others often break down with monthly and sometimes weekly updates. Troublesome when you keep files on many different drives.
Thank you Wallace for your answer. My first question was about the lack of the “Track planner” for the 5.1 audio tracks in the Audio tracks mixer not only in Premier but also in Audition. Is it normal?
My second question was about the fact that the video track is not exported from Premiere to Audition when using the ‘Open sequence in Audition’. Apparently 1920 x 1080 MPEG (the Sony m2ts format) video footages are not supported by Audition. Is there a list of video format supported by Audition?
