Audition cs6 not scanning VST folder...
on Apr 11, 2013 at 2:39:26 pm

Anyone know of a solution to allow Audition cs6 to start scanning
the VST plugins folder (they are 32 bits)?...Not getting anywhere.

Thanks Joseph, but ive seen that article already. The problem
is that it is not scanning any folder whatsoever, it just sits
there at 0% and not moving.
I have no tolerance for faulty software, so this version just
gonna have to go and i go back to version 3.

Have you had Audition perform the scan? It appears that you need to tell Audition where to look with the Scan for Plugins feature under Effects/Audio Plugin Manager. You have to tell it where to look the first time around.

Steve -

I just tested this out myself, by adding a free VST plugin (a .dll file) which I downloaded. Although Audition is installed on my D: drive, I had to put the .dll in C:Program Files (x86)VstPlugins. Without even restarting Audition, the plugin showed up in the Audio Plugin Manager, which is at the bottom of the Effects pulldown. When I clicked Add, it found the plugin, and immediately made it available to Audition, where it worked just fine.

I know some VST plugins aren't compatible with Audition, but Audition will figure that out and put it in a folder for VSTs that don't work.
