Is there a way to do this with my voice? I saw a few other questions like this asked on here but never found anything with substance. I am pretty much a beginner at audition (just used it for voice overs, some multitrack stuff and noise removal) and I have a crappy mic (but it works for what i need it to).

thanks in advance.

I think everything you need to know was in the thread that you have responded to ... If you don't already have the basic voice then there isn't much you can do other than what has already suggested .............. WILLIE

There's always a few tricks though, right, Willy?

I attended a fantastic workshop by Peter Howell from
the BBC Radiophonic Workshop a couple of years ago,
in which he revealed all the foley and tape looping (etc.)
secrets they were financially forced into innovating
due to the frugal ol' Beeb back in the 60s/70s... Thunder
(for shows like Doctor Who) was created by striking a match,
slowing it down then adding lots of reverb. A lion's roar
involved a toilet paper tube, of all things.

For 'movie voice' slowing it down slightly - Effects/Time Pitch/
Stretch/Slower Tempo etc. - might help, along with some
fancy reverb.

Alternatively, hire Don LaFontaine

The other famous voice actor is a black guy with a weird name
- red snake, or something like that - but I can't remember
