In Genart's January newsletter, they have an article that shows how Viewpoint used the FlysEye plugin (spark) to create an fx. There's even an example of the final product. Here's a link:

I'm trying to figure-out how the time off-set was done within each layer of the fx. I was thinking it could be a matte and a lot of layers that are slipped in time...but, I'm hoping there's a more efficent way of doing it.

Hi Keith; I'd start with TimeSlice for that kind of thing.
