Starting out on Smoke on Mac.
When I open Sony F65/F55 raw files (.mxf), they look all crushed like there was a wrong LUT applied. Same clips look fine in Resolve on Mac. So what's the appropriate way to fix this?

Hi Neil,

In the MediaHub, switch to the FORMAT SPECIFIC tab. It usually defaults to "metadata". Click the metadata button and change it to "debayer". There should be some options for you to try out to get the clip looking correct.

The other thought is the colorspace you want to use. Log or Lin for the footage as well as a LUT for the interface to display the footage correctly.

Grant

We are preparing to receive raw clips shot at 8k (ouch!) from the Sony F65. Will my Smoke 2014 be able to handle this at full debayer?

Thanks,
Josh

I've not had great results with Smoke 2013/15 and f55. I've always had to run it through resolve for a first pass.

But you guys should check out this thread:

You might have better luck on the current version. Smoke will choke on the 8k for sure. Good time to learn proxy workflow.
