I had the pleasure working with some complex time remapping last week and I kinda had to fake my way around it.
So i wanted to confirm my findings or ask for a better way.
Imagine a helicopter shot, professional recording from 1000 feet up.
The camera is zoomed in all the way down to a garden.
The camera op now zooms up using the motor to a full picture...this takes like 5 seconds.
In the AVID the editor added some intense speed changes, starting at 10% for like 5 seconds, then 300%, back to 30%, then 300% and then resting on 100%.
I not only used the pretty convincing new fluid motion renderer, he also embedded the source TC for me in the pic so I had a guideline.
In my attempts to recreate it I stumbled upon the fact that both in Timeline and ConnectFX my keys in the Time-warp tools have no handles.
At least I was unable to break keyframes or change em to smooth.
I ended up smoothing out the curve the old fashion way, a key per frame.
Is there really no way to soften a time curve or was i just a little blind ?
