Autodesk Smoke education version

Hi guys,

I just been to the autodesk student website and I think it is a really good move for autodesk to allow students to try out their softwares for free.

Is there any difference between the education license and the full license? Watermarks? Limited nodes?

What is the difference between the education version and ext 1? Does this mean that those of us who want to try out the matchbox shaders or the sapphire effects will not be able to use them in the education version?

Thanks for all the help in these questions and merry christmas!

Eric.

there are no node limitations or watermarks, as with all student versions you can't use it for commercial purposes, as for whether it is the same as extension 1 i am not sure, either way it will still be a fully functioning smoke, also don't forget there is flare for mac available now too, however this does come with alot more limitations than the smoke edu download

I work at an educational institution and the Smoke edu edition is the same as the full, paid version. The only "limitation" is what Joel noted:

[Joel Osis] "you can't use it for commercial purposes"

This is part of the EULA that you agree to when you install. If you're looking to learn and use the software as a student, there is no better option.
