I'm new to Smoke and I need some adviceworkflow of how to playback 2k4k media.
As I understood I need to make the following steps:
1)create project with 2k or 4k resolution
2)import video using MediaHub with specific format settings
3)if I choose "Cache Source Media" imported video would be transcoded to my current settings using compression format (ProRes 4444 for ex.)
After these steps made, video is plaing back for about 2sec and then freezes. I could not find the option in Smoke that shows dropped frames, like in Mediacomposer or Adobe Premier :(
Please correct me if I'm doing something wrong.
My config is MacPro Mid 2012 and I'm using hi speed storage device for Media Storage.
Press Shift+D+F13 to display the debug info on top of the player.
Pay attention at the "Disk drop frames" and Video GFX Drop". If disk drop increases significantly, that means your storage isn't fast enough to supply Smoke with the number of frames per second needed for real-time playback.
If the GFX drop increases, that means your computer as a whole (CPU, RAM, Graphics Card), can't process the frames fast enough to display them at the required FPS.
Also check the background tasks (Window > Background tasks in the top menu bar) to make sure the cache job has actually completed.
