Photoshop Layers - set duration on input

I'm trying to input 8 photoshop files to animate in Action and I can't seem to find where you set the input duration so I can have all my graphic inputs be 20 sec in length.

At the moment they are all set to 1 frame and I can figure out where I can set them all to come in as 20 sec clips or how to change them all from 1 frame to 20 seconds without doing it one by one which is painfully slow.

What am I missing?

Hi Rory,

If you want to make an effect that is 20 seconds long as a ConnectFX using Photoshop layers in action, than you should start in the MediaHub.

Right-click and create a black colour source that is 20 seconds long. Drop that into your sequence and apply a ConnectFX.

Add an action node into the schematic and import your Photoshop file.

The layers should each last the entire duration of your composite.

Hope this helps.

Regards
Grant

Thanks Grant

Is there not a quicker way of doing this as you still have to import each photoshop file one by one doing it this way.

Is there not a way to have Smoke input via the MediaHub and apply the duration to the imported photoshop files and maintain the folder structure?

Hi Rory,

Once the gap is 20 seconds long, I think you ought to be able to drag all 8 clips into action without doing anything else. Actually, you could drag them all into a 1 frame default gap and then just lengthen it in the timeline. Unless you want all 8 in separate tracks with separate action nodes, I think this ought to be easy.

I don;t really see why you need to have the any longer than 1 frame. That 1 frame is virtual. If you want to use it in a timeline... mark in/mark out :20 overwrite. Done.

The best way to work with PSD fils is via CFX and Action. Just import in to Action via the Import node. You PSD comes in as a layered comp. Done.
