Flame/Smoke Question: Crazy Custom resolution work?
on Apr 12, 2013 at 6:45:26 pm

We've got a project coming into our shop that we'll be sharing between artists on a few Flame Workstations and a few Smoke for Mac 2013 workstations.

The resolution of the project is 9989x2048, because it is intended to be a part of a muli-projector installation that will span several screens.

Because the FX work involved will span across the entire width of the image, it's not an elegant solution to split up the frame into slices and work that way, because we'll end up running into difficult issues at the seams, and of keeping a consistency of the FX work across the entire frame in context.

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a way to work with this frame size within Flame/Smoke. Any tips are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Smoke & Flame max res for Action us 8000 pixels. But you can import a 10k x 10k image. So you might need to use that to set your timeline
