Audio Hiss in Transcoded R3D files when played back in Smoke 2013
on Feb 10, 2013 at 3:56:56 pm

Hi all, We are working on one of our first projects in Smoke and we need some help. We have transcoded our footage from 5K Epic footage to 1080P ProRes Proxy Files for editing in smoke. We are having an issue with audio playback. The files playback fine in Quicktime, Final Cut Pro X, and Adobe Premiere. But in Smoke the audio is just static/ hiss. Has this happened to anyone before. Is there an easy fix?

Might be the audio codec? What is it?

Also, there is no need to pre-transcode the 5K Epic files before using them in Smoke. Smoke can import your files and also transcode them (Cache Media) to Prores codecs. (4444,422,HQ,LT, proxy) this is based on the project settings at creation.
