Cannot export from Smoke 2013
on Feb 6, 2013 at 10:16:11 pm

I tried to export a video from Smoke 2013, and it went through all the steps, but then it gave me the following error: “Export: No Backburner Server with adapter MediaConverter_2013.2.0 on Manager Edit 1:.....4-4c94D360C04-Backburner): Edit-1.local:Failed to...”
And then the rest of the error goes behind the media hub and I can’t read it. It only shows up for a couple of seconds so I had to do a screenshot to see what it actually said. This is my first time to use smoke or any autodesk software, so I have never set up backburner before, and haven’t set it up beyond what is done automatically when I installed smoke. I did check the service monitor and Backburner manager and server both have green lights, and are version 2013.1, while everything else is version 2013.2.0. I do not have any other computers that I am trying to run backburner on, I just want to export locally with the computer that I am on.

Hi Daniel.

Here's a KB article with tips & tricks on troubleshooting export problems: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=21205267&l...

There's also this unofficial guide put together by one of our users, Mike Parsons: http://area.autodesk.com/userdata/forum/m/mikes_backburner_guide.pdf

Hope this helps.

Regards,
robert.
