NEW Autodesk Smoke 2013 VIDEO SERIES - Mocha Pro to Smoke Interoperability

Hi Everyone,

I hope that you are all well!

I have posted a new training video series on the Smoke Learning Channel.

Mocha Pro to Smoke Interoperability

In these videos, you learn how to prepare data in Mocha Pro and export the settings into Autodesk Smoke. This includes Tracking Data, Masking Data and 3D Camera Tracking Data. It's a really good series to watch even if you are not using Mocha Pro with Autodesk Smoke.

You can view the video on the Smoke Learning Channel at http://www.youtube.com/smokehowtos
or you can download the video via iTunes. Just search for the Smoke Learning Channel.

You can also download the Media and follow along at: http://areadownloads.autodesk.com/wdm/smoke/media/mocha_interop.zip

All comments, suggestion and feedback welcome.

Have a great week!

Regards
Grant

Hi Craig,

I am not buying anyone ;)

Part of what I do is not only show how to use Smoke but also how Smoke fits into people's workflows and plays with other applications.

I am hoping to do more 3rd party apps throughout the year.

Many thanks for the feedback!

Regards
Grant

Hi Grant.
I too enjoyed the tutorial. One of the ever increasing areas of using Mocha is to use for the beauty clean ups. Right now I use Mocha Pro with Photoshop for creating a clean plate. I imagine it would be very easy to replace the Photoshop for creating a clean plate in Smoke. I'd really like to see a tutorial on a beauty clean up using Smoke and Mocha.

i want to do a video on beauty work and skin retouching but it will probably be using the Autodesk 2D tracker.

However, that bit could easily be substituted with the mocha track and import the track data into Smoke.

Many thanks for the suggestions.

Grant

Hi Jake,
If you have never checked out any of the mocha Pro "Remove Module" video tutorials, you can find them under the video section on Imagineer site:
http://www.imagineersystems.com/videos?tagFilter=mocha+Pro%3A+remove+module...

You could use Smoke's tools to create clean plate and import to mocha Pro's Remove Module. If clean frames exist within the clip itself, often you do not need an external clean plate. This can represent great time savings.

Hope this helps,
Ross
