client wants DPX, AfterEffects generates .CIN only ?
on Oct 15, 2012 at 2:09:12 pm

Hello. I am working on effects to be composited in Smoke. They are coming from AE CS4, in a 32bit project. The client/compositing house asked for TIF sequence, but then said DPX 10-bit would be best.

AE seems to only be able to export .CIN sequences, am I mistaken about this?

And if not, will a .CIN sequence open the same or do I need to find a way to generate a DPX sequence? Or should I just simplify and go with TIF?
Any help much appreciated!

Hi,

Smoke will support all the formats you mention --- Cineon (cin), DPX or Tiff.

I have always been a DPX kinda guy but whatever formats you can feed Smoke should be fine.

Grant
