Hey everybody,

So I'm in Connect FX and I wanted to use a black solid and a gmask node to create a vignette, but when I start drawing a mask my output turns black and white. Is there a way to correct this?

Thanks

Can you post a pic of your schematic? Try adding a color frame node into the matte input of your gmask.

Yes.. Add a white color frame node to the Blue matte input of the Gmask.
Create your mask...

Then you can feed the output (yellow) of the Gmask into something to composite with your Color correct nodes. a Blend & Comp node would be the easiest.

Blend & Comp Node:
Input 1= Black frame
Matte 1=Gmask output

Green Background=Output form last Color Correct Node.
Adjust transparency or blend modes

There are of course about 20 different ways you can achieve the same Vignette in Smoke 2013. But you are on the right track. :)
