Export with Alpha (Matte)
on Jun 28, 2012 at 4:06:48 pm

Hi all,

Just getting to grips with Smoke2013. Bit of a mind shift from previous versions. How do I export a clip with Alpha?

I've created a CFX with an Action. No BG clip, just one foreground with a MasterKeyer. 2Outputs from the Action (1 Comp, 2 Media Matte) to the inputs of the CFX node. Both Action outputs set to 'All Objects'. I am trying to Export to Prores4444 with the Matte set to the alpha channel. With the clip on the timeline also it has a black background rather than showing the clip underneath.

Hope you can help

Sean

hi,

looks like it says in the notes, that RGBA can only be exported from a matte container - currently i hope ...

If that's true, then you could create the CFX and use the Commit CFX option (in the gear, i think) which will create the matte container.
