Tint Effect in Smoke?

Hey everyone,

So I have a shot that I need to change the color of an actor's hair from red to a dark brown. I did a test in After Effects and I was able to do this by duplicating the layer, adding the tint effect and applying a blending mode.

How would I go about doing this in Smoke?

Thanks,

Aaron

Hi Aaron,

You have two ways to approach it in Smoke.

You can either just use layers in the sequence to "mimic" what AE is doing. So duplicate your video layer, colour correct it and blend it. You might need to Roto if required.

Or you can select the single layer, go into CFX. Use the colour correction nodes to grade the hair as you want. Than you can use a blend & comp node to Logic ops node to blend the two layers back together again. As before, you can use a Gmask node to root areas if needed.

Regards
Grant
