Single Screen UI during Editing?
on Jun 16, 2012 at 4:14:29 pm

Anyone trying out editing a full project in Smoke 2013?

In FCP/Avid, we have all of our systems as dual screen setups - and usually one monitor is filled with lots of open bins/tabs - makes it super fast for finding what you need.

How are you all finding the Smoke single screen interface for creative editing?

Wel I have always been a fan of Smoke of editing. I tend to use multiple folders and use the thumbnail view to edit with. I don't use src/rec and just toggle between the single viewers and the thumbnail views. Since you have always s been able to scrub clips and mark I/O in thumbnails, it make sit easy to pick shots and find clips. The source viewer seems unnecessary. So therefore, the single UI works. The UI is design and always has been for single monitor and now that you have 27" and 30" monitors, do you really need 2? Other NLEs are designed for 2 and it shows.
