Well i have spend may hours now with the new software and there are a couple of things that escape me.

Why is the primary/ secondary blend modes not right in the viewer. Having to go two menus deep to turn this on and off is gonna be a pain. I'm switching views all the time. This will slow things down.

No desktop paint is a killer for me. Working on the desktop was fast, i could edit all my elements for shots. Paint clean frames and keep everything right in front of me.

No Publish - This kills the resolve workflow I use. Using linked publishes was the best ever.

No library tools. - Consolidate is a must. Every AAF I must do this for.

Having xml's in the same place as your media is not functional. We have volumes just for media and volumes for edls, aaf, audio, etc.

Being able to use relink is a life saver. i dont see that anywhere.

No desktop tc change or frame rate change. No de interlace.

Overall the new software feels faster. ANd not having to reder to dpx is great, I just want this new version to have all the tools the old one did.

AUTODESK - there was a reason that you put all those features in, why take them out now. Our jobs haven not changed. I'm going to be expected to do the same work. But with this current version, i'm missing tools that I use all the time.

Keep in mind that this is just a Pre-release1 and that there is more to come. Things like conform and Publish are still being developed.

I do agree about the Pri/Sec View being buried in the VIEW menu.

Hi Nick,
First off, your feedback is greatly appreciated. When you downloaded the trail there was a document explaining that this is not the final version and many pieces of the puzzle will not be in the first pre-release. Keep testing and reporting what you think and find. There is no guarantee everything will be implemented exactly as you want it but Autodesk is listening and when the final release comes in the Fall all the feedback we receive will help make Smoke 2013 the best it can be.

I have been playing around with it and found some great features. I'm sure in time we will see the tools we love in this software.

Thanks Guys

I hope so there are meny features missing. also I hope there's a legacy mode for the Smoke Artist out there that have been on the software since 3.6 like I have . I'm not saying that the refreshes on the ui aren't cool but there are a lot of thing that the real world need like pull down removal on the edit desk Ect Ect I have a full list of the missing toys. And bugs I've been complaining About since 2009 advanced
