I've been working in Smoke and mostly not hating it with all my heart. However, I have had a lot of issues getting my edited timelines from Smoke to DaVinci. (or anywhere for that matter)
I see myself as a normal well behaved editor, editing in a rational environment. I cut footage from 5d's, C300s, RED cameras and go pros, all in a variety of frame sizes and frame rates. Sometimes I conform all the media into a ProRes format, and sometimes not.
Every time though the only way I've ever been able to get my cut from Smoke to DaVinci then back into Smoke is by separating out all the shots with differing frame rates into different sequences and exporting individual EDLs from Smoke. Then from there having to reconnect in Davinci with varying levels of success.
So I'm wondering if anyone has a workflow that works...better than that.
