Titling A Show With Alpha Embedded TIF Files

Titling a show on Smoke 2013 using alapha embedded TIFF files. Importing with Create Matte Container on and adding Axis effect when on timeline. Do not see result. Also how do I determine on import what duration to make each title card (3sec, 5sec, or whatever I determine I need). On the Linux Classic Smoke you can set repeat to determine this. Where on the 2013 on Mac in this done??

Hi,

If you are importing in a still image with alpha, you should be able to drop the matte container into the sequence with an axis and stretch it to whatever duration you want. Single frames are infinite in duration.

If it is a frame sequence or quicktime movie with an alpha than the duration on the clip in Smoke is the duration of the frame.

If you only see black and not a result, you can do 2 things.

First render the result to see if Smoke actually processes something.

Secondly, go into the AXIS effect and change the mode from REALTIME to PREVIEWFX and that should cache up the result in the viewer.

Hope this helps.

Grant
