Anyone have good tips where to start or maybe a link to a tutorial for doing skin work in Smoke?

You can try an use the Denise tool in FlameFX. Add a sample box and place in the skin tones. Annalise and adjust as needed.

There are many techniques to achieve that.

All base on the idea to key the skin tone and place the same clip blurred underneath. You can do that very well in the modular keyer. There are blur nodes available as well as the CW which again has a secondary that can tackle skin tones.

Thank you very much for the hints!
I'm quite new on Smoke and it's really great to get some advice on which direction to take :-)
