Does anyone know if there are non-Autodesk sources for storage disk drives that are compatible with the Smoke storage disk arrays? Seagate Cheetah 15k ST3300655SS

I don't think that there is anything special with Auodesk storage anymore. There used to be firmware on the drives, but that went away with StandardFS and open storage.

I googled the drive and found several places.. I think you can just remove the bad drive from the sled and replace it with a new one.

Your statement backs up what I had heard a while back from another source, and that is a good thing.
Would it matter if this system is a little older Flame v2009 on HP, and running StoneFS on a XR series storage unit though?

I don't think so. I am still running StoneFS on my 2012x1 HP 9400.
That's just the file system.
