consolidating a timeline / match still finds clip with full handles?
on Nov 18, 2011 at 12:03:04 am

Hi, been playing with consolidating and the match replace workflow and can't get it to work correctly.
I've bought in an XML from FCP7 which has very long handles on clips (softlinked to H264 clips from 7D). I've tried consolidating using the desktop timeline method and consolidating using the tool in the library to 10 frame handles. The timeline shows H10 and T10 on each clip as I'd expect. Then I match the clip using / to take into action I get the full length of the clip with 1000+ frame handles ???

using ctrl - / gives me the clip with no handles... but what I want is to match to the clip with 10 frame handles as it says in the timeline so I can render with 10 frame handles in action then use replace in the src/record viewer...

what am I missing here?

In preferences under the 'timeline' tab there is an option as to what you match out. I think you'll find you have it set to 'match current library' where as I think for what you are trying to do you need it to be set to 'match segment'
