How to set DPX sequence framerate when dragging clips from Gateway
on Nov 13, 2011 at 12:03:07 am

Hi friends!

When dragging DPX sequences from Gateway in Smoke 2012 SP3 Mac the framerate is set to 24fps by default, despite the header framerate is 25fps. The project is set to 25fps as well.

Importing through Import Image gives the correct framerate when set fo File FCM.

Just curious what is the reason for this strange behavior and are there any options to override it?

Thank you!

The SAP release seems to have solved this issue. Doesn't help with your version.

You can reformat it once it is imported.

DPX Framerate control

You are now able to override the frame rate found in the DPX header of a file, when using the Timecode From Header option. This is useful in cases where the DPX header contains a frame rate that is inaccurate.
The framerate control is used commonly when the desired frame rate is 23.98, but the DPX header contains a frame rate of 24, and the timecode would be accurate for both frame rates.

hi,

as Brian mentioned - in the x1 (SAP) you can set the rate for WTG import -

in the previous versions you can open the file "legacy.res.cfg" (under linux in /usr/discreet/cfg) - this contains all default resolutions & you can enter some default behaviour there (dont ask me why ;-))

this should solve your 24fps issue
