Smoke is stretching Photoshop files
on Oct 27, 2011 at 6:37:42 pm

I have imported a 2000 x 3000 Pixel 72 DPI Photoshop file into Smoke 2012 SP2. I'm working in a 1280x720 environment. When I bring the file into Action or place an Axis Soft FX on it, the image is stretched horizontally by 60%. I made sure the Resize option was not selected when importing. When I alt-tap on the clip it gives me the correct dimensions. Is there a way to prevent this stretching from happening?

Thanks,

Rod

The dimensions may be right, but the Pixel aspect is wrong. (I'll bet)
How did you import it? Gateway or Image I/O?
My guess is that you need to change the aspect ratio to frame mode or W+H.

My guess is that the aspect ratio now is 1.778.
It should be 1.5 for that size frame.

I'm using Image I/O and importing Frames

Yes, it is changing the Ratio to 1.778

Without enabling the resize button, I set the Aspect Selection Button to "File Aspect" and everything imports correctly. "Set to W:H" also works.

It was confusing to me why the Aspect Selection Buttton was active when the Resize Button was not active, but now I see these buttons are independant of each other. Thanks for the help.
